Shell commands and command-line options.Installing Quake Shareware 1.06 for Windows 10.I miss the old sounds on my old Dos 5.0 Pc Mine has sound.Īnd disabe all sound, use just Sound blasterĭoes any body know how to the sound working on quake PLEASE. I read on the internet somewhere to change gus to false in the dosbox setup file to get the sound. Quake runs too fast in Dosbox (even if I slow cycles down)!! Tested on version 0.74 works fine on Windows 7 Amd 64 X 2 3800+ no problems running Full version of Quake Fortunately, all of these bugs go away if I die and restart the level. Things like platforms not raising, or instead of a Scrag there will be a floating medkit, etc. When I open a saved game there are lots of bugs, often to the point the level isn't playable. I bought an original copy of the game off Amazon, created an ISO, which I mounted as my "D" drive, then installed the game. V0.74 on Linux: Bugs when playing saved games, no music ( 06:54) I needed to create and mount a bin/cue image instead of an ISO. What setting do I have to change to get the music tracks to play as they should?Ĭorrection to previous message: Music works ( 05:32) When I enter the hub world or enter a actual level, I do not get any music at all. The music in quake only works at the title screen. Quake CD music doesnt work correctly ( 14:19) to play a track use: "CD PLAY X" x = 2 to 12 In the console use the "CD INFO" command to view the tracks, remembering that CD / Image volume control is not possible. When you mount a CD image, when you start the game, it alternates between tracks 02 to 11. The sound card is a SB Audgy model 0230, PCI board. The game runs good, the sound isn't any good just noise. Difficulties setting up DBx aside does it run the game in software? Is the performance the same as 1996 or is it better because yes? Is there a place where I can just download a something and it just works? I'm lazy, I should learn how to make DOSBox work from the ground up to make Quake and any other game run in Software mode as they did on DOS. Is RetroArch easier to setup AND use than DOSBox? I just want to drop-and-play (refer to previous comment below).
